We rank by who checks, not who’s biggest.

Heardlist doesn’t run its own scanners. It merges three public community lists, removes duplicates and private addresses, and orders them so the entries with real verification evidence come first.

Free proxies rot fast. In a research probe on 7 Oct 2026, 25 HTTP proxies from the top tier were sampled minutes after their hourly re-check: 9 answered (36%), median 6.3 s. That’s the best case. Check before you use.

  1. Tier 1

    monosans/proxy-list

Re-checked hourly with a full real-page fetch, so connect-then-stall proxies never make it in. Carries response time and country. MIT licensed.

Verified · sorted by response time

  2. Tier 2

    proxifly/free-proxy-list

The largest raw pool, with anonymity and country fields. We don’t verify it, and most of its anonymity labels read “transparent”, so filter before you trust it.

    Unverified · bulk

    —
  3. Tier 3

    TheSpeedX/PROXY-List

Daily plain host:port files. No metadata and no verification evidence, so it only fills gaps.

Treat every proxy as a stranger’s computer.

  • Never route logins, tokens, accounts or private traffic through it. The operator can read and change anything that isn’t protected end to end.
  • HTTPS only, certificate checks on. A CONNECT tunnel keeps the payload encrypted, but the operator still sees which hostnames you visit.
  • Set short timeouts and rotate. Three seconds or less. Drop anything that stalls and expect target sites to block datacenter ranges.
  • Run your own check right before use. No list’s “verified” flag is a substitute. Public data only, please.

Take the list.
